Caylin Cheney ARNP—Whole Personal Wellcare

1.     What led you to decide to open your primary care practice in Seattle?

I love being a provider and helping people but I don’t love our healthcare system. I knew that I could support people in a more intentional, effective, safe, and healing way with my own practice.

2.    What kind of services do you provide?

I focus on creating a safe and inclusive environment to provide urgent care visits, chronic disease management (like diabetes, high blood pressure, fibromyalgia), wellness visits, mental health medication management and support (including anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder), gender affirming hormone therapy, STD testing, and PrEP. My visits are virtual only (for now!).

3.     How do your services help people who’ve dealt with medical trauma, anxiety, or other mental health concerns?

My number one goal is to create a safe and healing environment for anyone who has experienced trauma, whether within the medical system or elsewhere. Patient autonomy is at the cornerstone of my practice. I offer support for trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder both through medication management and creating a space for people to share their concerns openly without fear of judgement.

4.     What kind of patients do you love working with?

I love working with folks who have had trouble feeling heard or getting their needs met in the traditional medical system. I especially love working with women and folks in the queer community.

5.     What happens during a first appointment with you?

At our first visit, there is some logistical/admin conversation up front to make sure demographic information, medical history, etc. is correct. Then, I turn the floor over to the patient and want to hear all about their concerns, symptoms, questions, and concerns. At the end of the visit, we’ll discuss a follow-up plan which could include scheduling another visit, getting labs done, medication prescriptions or referrals to specialists.

6.     What do you wish people knew about services with you?

We can do SO much in primary care and if we can’t do it, I will always find a resource or specialist to help. So if you are wondering about something, please ask! Any question, concern or idea is welcome.

7.     How can people contact you to learn more about your services in Seattle and throughout Washington state?

Visit my website: wholepersonwellcare.com. You schedule a free consultation with me to see if we’d be a good fit or just book a visit straight away.
